Annual Festival Guide
September 12, 2013 - 11 years ago
We have taken the liberty of creating Sydney, or maybe even Australia's BEST list of cool, different, and maybe less popular Festivals. (With a few regular goodies in there too).
Think we missed one? Let us know, this is an evolving list for a constant supply to all UR members, and we want it to be contributed by all the cool people that attend the Festivals, YOU! So have your say.
What's more, please add some comments for tips, and ideas in the comments section. I.e. Did you know if you go to Falls Festival in Melbourne they don't sell ice onsite at the camping ground, so you have to take a bus into town, and get it! We should add that for sure.
Anyway, here it is. Hope you like it folks!

Not to be confused with the similarly-quirky British festival of the same name, SG organisers keep most of the details a surprise so partygoers are fully immersed in a secret world. Creative groups set up their own themed areas in the forest and partygoers never know who or what to expect. Make sure you pack a fabulous array of fancy dress for this one. |

A three-day camping festival in lush green surroundings by a creek for swimming, Subsonic offers a mixture of electro, techno, hip hop and roots music. Performance art is a big part of the weekender - expect ariel acts, a cabaret zoo, yoga and healing herb workshops, bush tucker and body art. And it's not all about frantic beats - The Tantric Turtle cafe will be on hand to offer partied-out festival goers organic cakes in a sensual atmosphere inside a gypsy caravan. The festival is in its fourth year and around 2500 people attend. |
